Excess deductions
When there's excess deductions, where deductions exceed ordinary income, the system keeps the qualified dividends in the trust/estate. To change this, go to
Organizer
, General Information
, and then Return and Print Options - Irrevocable Returns
. Select Compute Options
and then Compute Option #224
which distributes them. Allocate against qualified dividends last
Use
Compute Option #205
in Organizer
, General Information
, Return and Print Options - Irrevocable
, Compute Options
to use all other classes of income first, and then offset against qualified dividends.
