Data entry for 1099-MISC
To enter 1099-MISC information for 1041 returns:
- Go toOrganizer,Source Documents (1099s), and then1099-MISC.
- Enter the payer's name, address, domestic or foreign city, state or country, and zip or postal code.
- Enter the payer's federal ID number.
- The recipient information automatically populates fromOrganizer,General Information,Basic Return Information,Entity Information. Override anything necessary.
- Enter amounts in fields that apply. Amounts entered for state withholding and the amounts entered inBox 3 - other income,Box 4 - Federal income tax withheld, andBox 8 - Substitute payments in lieu of dividends or interest, carry to the return and related workpapers. All other amounts don't carry to the return; they're for e-file purposes only.
- Finish data entry by entering state specific information.
