Direct K-1 Import Export tax year 2024

About the Direct K-1 file set

The Direct K-1 file set is an Excel workbook listing all fields enabled for import and export. It includes supplementary information such as navigation paths, storage values, data types, and lengths. Direct K-1 file sets (available in the downloads table on the main product page) are zipped with the following name structure:
  • TYTY
    : Tax year (e.g., 2024)
  • AAAA
    : Tax application type (1065)
  • MM-DD-YYYY
    : Release date
Example: TYTY-AAAA-dk1-MM-DD-YYYY.zip

Form name
The form name used in the first column for data records on import files.

Field name
The field name used in the seventh column for data records on import files.

Copy
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Copy.
D
Group
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Group.

Subgroup
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Subgroup.
F
Data_Grouping4
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Data_Grouping4.
G
Data_Grouping5
YES means a data record requires a non-zero value for Data_Grouping5.
H
EOrgXREF
The unique identifier for a field (EORG, EOrgXref, Xref, or XrefName).
I
Length
The maximum length allowed (in characters) for the value in a field.
J
Data Type
The type of data the field can contain (e.g., DOLLAR or ALPHANU).
K
Precision
The number of digits allowed to the right of the decimal point for FRACTION data.
L
Required
YES means this field is on the Required_Fields tab.
M
Juris
Indicates if a field is federal (F) or state (S).
N
Description
Long text describing the tax concept of a field.

  • Required_Fields:
     Common group fields that must be present for proper navigation and calculation.
  • Master_Group_Forms:
     Form names associated with master groups.
  • Child_Forms, Master_Group_Children:
     Special treatment required during import for 1040 tax application type.
  • Field_Collections:
     Groupings where data should be entered into all members if entered into one.
  • Field_Collections_Field_Rules, Field_Collections_Group_Rules:
     Groupings where data should not be entered into the second group if entered into the first.
  • Discontinued_Forms, Discontinued_Forms_Fields, Discontinued_Fields:
     Lists of fields that no longer exist.
  • Field_Changes:
     Existing fields with changed form and/or field names.
  • Data_Changes:
     Existing fields with changed data type or length.
  • New_Form_Names, New_Form_Fields:
     New forms or fields added in a release.
  • New_EOrgXREF_Names:
     New EORGs for existing form names.
  • Formatted_Fields:
     Fields requiring specific formatting.
  • String_Values, Discontinued_String_Values, New_String_Values, Changed_String_Values:
     Lists of string text and storage values.
  • Org_Navigation, Txf_Navigation, Wkp_Navigation:
     Navigation paths to find screens containing the fields.
