Form 1065 print requirements
Guidance for resolving Form 1065 printing, allocation, footnote, and line-item reporting issues in GoSystem Tax RS.
To print Form 1065, Federal U.S. Return of Partnership Income:
- In theTax Forms, selectFederal, then the1065 – US Partnership Return of Incomefolder.
- Go to thePage 2tab.
- Make sureLine 4dis marked asNo.
- If it is markedYes, in theOrganizer, selectGeneral Information, then theReturn and Print Optionsfolder.
- Go to theForm 1065, Pages 1, 6 and 1125-Atab.
- Go to theSchedules L, M-1, M-2 and K-1, Item L Print Optionssection.
- Mark thePrint Schedules L, M-1, M-2, K-1, Item L, and Form 1065 Page 1, Item F amounts and detail when Form 1065, Page 2, Schedule B, line 4 is "Yes"checkbox.
- In the same section, make sure thePrint blank Schedules L, M-1, M-2 and K-1, Item L (Overrides next option below)checkbox isn't marked.
- Do a full recompute, then print the return.
Cash and Property Distributions
If Schedule K, Line 19a on page 5 of Form 1065 is incorrect, enter the correct amount to override the calculation.
- Go to .
- Enter or correct the amount and special allocation code in Line19a - Cash and Marketable Securities Distribution.
- Do a full recompute.
Section 754 asset depreciation special allocations
- In theOrganizer, select or .
- Under theSpecially Allocated Depreciationsection, select the option.
- Section 754 depreciation included in income - The depreciation calculated for this asset is included in Schedule K, line 1, or line 2, reducing the net income reported.
- Section 754 depreciation not included in income - The depreciation calculated for this asset is not reported on any line of Schedule K. GoSystem Tax RS automatically creates a Schedule M-1, line 4 adjustment for expenses recorded on books not included on Schedule K.
- Special allocated depreciation included in income - The depreciation calculated for this asset is included on Schedule K, line 1, or line 2, reducing the net income.
- Special allocated depreciation not included in income - The depreciation calculated for this asset is not reported on any line of Schedule K. GoSystem Tax RS automatically creates a Schedule M-1, line 4 adjustment for expenses recorded on books not included on Schedule K.
- Enter a 2-digit special allocation code for Regular, AMT, and/or ACE.
Specially allocating Total Depreciation:
- Go to .
- Under theSpecially Allocated Depreciation Overridessection, select the line.
- Enter a 2-digit special allocation code.
Detailed statements for Form 1065, Page 2, Schedule B, Line 4b
Go to tab, go to the
Miscellaneous Partner Schedules
section, and clear the option for "List of partners names, beginning capital accounts, contributions, and distributions."Partnership footnotes
To print a partnership footnote on a new page,
- Go to.
- SelectBegin this footnote on a new page.noteCurrently there is no option to begin a partner footnote on a new page in the print file.
- Do a full recompute, then print.
Partner footnotes without amounts may not print for specific partners when special allocation settings aren't configured correctly.

- Select the relevant footnote number, then selectTo specially allocate footnote.
- In theAttach Footnote To:section, enterYfor the specific partners (or for all if intended for everyone).noteFor partners who should not have the footnote printed, define a special allocation code and enter none in the amount column for those partners. Make the allocation code is correct, don’t use the Ratio column.
- Go to .
- FindSchedule K, and Schedule K-1 Print Suppression Options.
- Clear the checkbox forPartner Footnotes.
- Go to .
- Do a full recompute, then print.
Page 1, Line 4
Federal Form 1065 Page 1 Line 4 may display an incorrect value for ordinary income from other partnerships and fiduciaries.
Use one of the following solution paths to correct the amount.
- Go to .
- Enter the amount along with your special allocation code.
- Do a full recompute, then print.

Schedule K Line 1 already takes Page 1 Line 23 into account, which includes Line 4. The 2 are linked.
If you want to populate Schedule K without Page 1 Line 4:
- Go to and override the value flowing to Schedule K Line 1.
- Then go to and remove the entry sourcing to Page 1 Line 4. This lets Schedule K retain its total value while removing the pass-throughs interfering with Page 1.
Alternatively, override the value on the yellow worksheet.
If the issue persists after completing the earlier steps:
- Go to .
- Enter the expected amount.
- Do a full recompute, then print.
Page 1, Line 15
Line 15 on Federal Form 1065, Page 1, can show an incorrect value when Form 8990's auto-calculation overrides the interest amount you entered in Deductions Summary.
- Go to .
- Mark theSuppress auto Calculation for Form 8990 line 1, 6, and 23checkbox.
- Run a full recompute.
Line 15 now shows the correct interest amount.
