Form 40 print requirements
Form 40 prints when the correct return/entity type is selected and North Dakota isn't suppressed in
Print Options
.To print Form 40, Corporation Income Tax Return:
- Go to .
- Go to theReturn / Entity Typesection.
- Select1120 – U.S. CorporationforReturn Type.
- SelectCorporate Single EntityforEntity Type.
- Go to .
- SelectPrint Options, thenPrint Suppression.
- Go to theSuppression MD-RItab.
- Make sureNorth Dakotais cleared in theState Formscolumn.
- Do a full recompute and print the return.
NOL statement
The North Dakota NOL statement prints only when specific conditions are met and numeric NOL amounts exist.
Follow these steps to verify the data and understand when the statement generates.
- Verify that theTotalfield in theAmount utilized in Current Yearcolumn contains an actual numeric amount for at least 1 member. The field can't contain the wordNONE, it must be a numeric value.
- Go to .
- Drill down, then drill down on the 1st line forNOL carryover as calculated.
- Sub view on theTotalfield for theAmount utilized in Current Yearcolumn to verify the data.
- If no NOL exists, the statement isn't necessary and won't print.
