SA-F8936-003 e-file error

This happens when the Schedule A Form 8936,
VINNewClnVehInServiceTYInd
 field is
Yes
 and both
PrevOwnClnVehInServiceTYInd
 and
VINQlfyCmrclClnVehInSrvcTYInd
 fields have values.

Error message

If Schedule A (Form 8936), VINNewClnVehInServiceTYInd has a choice of "Yes" indicated, then [ PrevOwnClnVehInServiceTYInd and VINQlfyCmrclClnVehInSrvcTYInd ] must not have values.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Credits
    Clean Vehicle Credits – 8936
     folder.
  2. Go to the
    Clean Vehicle Detail
     folder, then select
    Vehicle Name
     in the
    Form 8936-A - Clean Vehicle Credit Amount
     section.
  3. If you select
    Question 5
     as
    YES
    , then
    Question 6
     and
    Question 7
     should be blank.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.

Form 8936
 you're filling out.
  • For Parts II and III, answer only Question 5 and then the items in Part II. Leave Questions 6 and 7 blank.
  • For Part IV, answer only Question 6 and the items in Part IV. Leave Questions 5 and 7 blank.
  • For Part V, answer Questions 6 and 7 and the items in Part V. Leave Question 5 blank.
