R0000-204 e-file error

This happens when an amount was entered for the qualified business income deduction and there is not a Form 8995 or Form 8995A present.

Error message

R0000-204: If 'QualifiedBusinessIncomeDedAmt' in the return (1040, 1040NR, 1041) has a non-zero value, then one and only one Form 8995 or Form 8995A must be present in the return.

Solution

  1. In the Organizer, select
    General Information
    .
  2. Select
    Return and Print Options - Irrevocable
    , then
    General Options
    .
  3. In the
    QBI Print Options
     section, turn off all print selections.
  4. Do a full recompute.
  5. Go back to the
    QBI Print Options
    section.
  6. Turn on the print selections.
  7. For Form 8995, Line 17, enter
    NONE
    .
  8. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-fil.
