Solution 1

To clear the California extension diagnostic:
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Common State
    Bank Information
    Extension tab
    .
  2. Enter the following fields:
    • Account number
    • Routing number
    • Date to be debited
    • Amount
  3. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
note
  • California only expects an extension if a payment needs to be made.
  • When filing electronically, the payment must be made using direct debit.
  • There isn't a way to clear the diagnostics if no payment is being made.

Solution 2

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    General Information
    Bank Information
    .
  2. Go to the
    Section Confirm/Update
    section.
  3. Make a selection for 1 of the following:
    • Taxpayer confirmation of prior year bank account type, routing and accounting numbers
    • Add new (or update existing) account type, routing and account numbers
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
