Error: Beginning profit ratios do not foot to 1.0

This occurs when the beginning profit ratios don't add up to 1.0.

Error message

Beginning profit ratios do not foot to 1.0: Check beginning profit ratios entered in Organizer.

Solution

The beginning ratios must total exactly 1.0. Zeros and NONE entries also trigger this error.
note
This is a severe diagnostic and won't prevent e-filing. Even for first-year filers, the program expects beginning ratios because it looks for ratios at the start of the year.
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Partner Information
    Partner by Partner Data
    Columnar Partner Entry
    .
  2. Go to the
    Ratios\Units
     tab.
  3. Verify that the beginning ratios for all partners add up to 1.0.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
