E-file diagnostic: Partner ID Number 

Partner ID Number: Each partner must have data on the Sch K-1 for "Partner ID". The only valid options are: (1) a 9-digit ID number, (2) APPLD FOR, or (3) FOREIGN US. Check the Partner ID number for Partner -.
This happens when the Partner ID number is missing on a K-1.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Partner Information
    Partner by Partner Data
    .
  2. In the
    Partner by Partner Data
     folder, select the partner in question and go to its
    Partner Information
    .
  3. Review the options selected under the
    SSN \ EIN
     section. If the selection is on
    SSN \ EIN
     (Default), then there must be an ID number populated in the
    SSN \ EIN
     field.
  4. You may also select
    Applied For
    .
  5. Do a full recompute and recreate the e-file.
note
FOREIGNUS
 is no longer accepted in the IRS schema. If the partner is a foreign partner and doesn't have an SSN or TIN. Enter
000-00-0000
 if the foreign partner is an individual or
00-0000000
 if the partner is an entity.
