R0000-055 e-file error

This occurs when the e-file is missing the required PDF attachment for Form 8453, when the attached PDF is a fillable input form rather than a signed document, or when the PDF is password-protected.

Error message

If "Binary Attachment 8453 Signature Document" is selected a Binary attachment with a description of "8453 Signature Document" must be attached. Select the Predefined Title: Edit - Insert - Efile Attachments

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Federal E-file
    Attachments
    PDF Attachments
    Summary
    .
  2. Select
    Add PDF
     to attach Form 8453 to the e-file.
  3. Select
    8453 Signature Document
     in the predefined field.
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
