CT020-MEF-PART e-file error

This reject occurs when e-filing a Connecticut 1065 return due to an apportionment math error or missing apportionment schedule.

Error messages

Invalid or missing CT-NR (CT020-MEF-PART).

Solution 1

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    , then
    States
    .
  2. Select
    Connecticut
    , then
    Member Information
    .
  3. Enter an amount in
    Total Connecticut source income included in return (Override)
    .
    note
    If there's no
    Connecticut source income
    on the return, enter
    NONE
    .
  4. Do a
    Full Recompute
    , re-create the e-file, and resubmit the return.

Solution 2

Connecticut doesn't let you enter 0 or NONE for CT-1065 Page 4, Part 2, Line 8.
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Connecticut
    Allocation and Apportionment
    and populate a valid percentage. If you can't determine the correct percentage, paper file the return.
  2. Verify Line 8 on CT-1065 Page 4, Part 2 doesn't contain 0 or NONE. If the entity conducts business only within Connecticut, enter
    1
    on Line 8 and leave Lines 1 through 7 blank.
  3. Recreate the e-file and resubmit.
  4. If the reject persists, contact the Connecticut Department of Revenue Services for guidance on apportionment fraction requirements.
