Solution
- Go to .
- Verify the EIN or Social Security number is entered in the correct format:
- EIN: XX-XXXXXXX
- SSN: XXX-XX-XXXX
If the partner is an individual, format the number as a Social Security number. - Go to .
- Double check all partners in theView Diagnostics Page.
- Make sure none of the names have special characters.
- For Aggregation Files, make sure the FEIN is present and partner first/last names have no special characters and are correctly formatted.
- For direct K-1 imports on composite returns, verify the import file contains the actual Social Security number or EIN (not ‘applied for’) for each partner.
- Recreate the e-file and resubmit.
