HEADER-00030-011 e-file error

This happens when the beginning date isn’t the 1st day of the month and the end date isn’t the last day of the month.

Error message

HEADER-00030-011: Tax Year Begin date-day(DD) must be the first day of begin month.

Solution

  1. In Organizer, select
    General Information
     then
    Basic Return Information
    .
  2. Select
    Entity Information
    .
  3. Go to the
    Dates
     section.
  4. Change the fiscal year dates so that the beginning is the 1st day of the month and the ending is the last day of the month.
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
  6. Change the dates back for the federal.
    note
    According to the state of Maryland, their e-filing system doesn’t recognize a tax year beginning other than the 1st day of the month and ending the last day of the month. They realize that may not match the federal return.
