Error: The field 'CountryCd' is unexpected

You'll get this error when the
ForeignAddress
element expects
ProvinceOrStateNm
before
CountryCd
. Enter the foreign state or province for each foreign partner to resolve it.

Solution 1: Enter the foreign state or province

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Partner Information
    Partner by Partner Data
    Columnar Partner Entry
    .
  2. Locate the foreign partner.
  3. Go to
    Partner Information
    Foreign State or Province (For e-file only; Does Not print)
    .
    note
    If you're using Direct K-1 or a PTE-D aggregation file, update your import file to include the
    <ProvinceOrStateNm>
    element for all foreign partners, then reimport the file before recomputing.
  4. Enter the state or province.
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.

Solution 2: Select
Foreign Country
for the state of residency

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Partner Information
    Partner by Partner Data
    [Partner Name]
    Partner Information
    Partner Information
    .
  2. In the
    Foreign state/province (For e-file only; Does Not print)
    field, enter the province, state (if applicable), or city name.
  3. On
    State of residency
    , select
    Foreign Country
    .
  4. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
