E-file diagnostic: If electronically filing IT-2040 LL

NY E-File: If electronically filing IT-204-LL. Either Regular partnership or Limited liability company (LLC) or limited liability partnership (LLP) must be checked, not both.
This happens when an identifying entity checkbox hasn’t been selected.

Solution

  1. In Organizer select,
    States
    ,
    Common State
    , then
    General information
    .
  2. Go to
    Basic Return Information
    , then
    Filing Status
     tab.
  3. For
    New York
    , Column B (Partnership Type) use the dropdown and select an option.
note
To select Regular Partnership line 15 you'll need be 1 million or greater. This can be determined by going to
Tax Forms
 folder,
States
,
New York
,
IT-204-LL
 and select
New York
 filing fee worksheet link.
