P_200 e-file error

This error occurs when filing a 1065 New York City return with an invalid stateSchemaVersion attribute or incomplete preparer information in the XML elements.

Error message

Reject Code P_200 Rule Number P_200 Error Message The stateSchemaVersion attribute is invalid - The value Schema MeF TY2025v5.0 is invalid according to its datatype http://www.irs.gov/efile:StateSchemaVersionType - The Enumeration constraint failed.

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Cities and Intangibles
    New York City
    General Information
    Preparer Information (Tab)
    Preparer Information Section
    .
  2. Enter the following information:
    • Preparer Name
    • SSN
    • Preparer Email Address
    • Preparer Date Signed
    note
    You generally don't have to enter the preparer's SSN as long as you've entered a valid PTIN.
  3. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
