California Form 3805Q e-file validation fails when the SIC Code field is empty or contains non-numeric characters, or when the RequestedDate field contains an invalid value.

- Find theCarryover Limitationssection forPrior Year NOLs.
- In theSIC Codefield, enter a valid 4-digit numeric SIC Code (for example, 1234).note
- The SIC Code needs to be exactly 4 numeric digits. Non-numeric characters or empty values will cause validation failure.
- If the SIC Code isn't necessary, check whether the field can be left blank or requires a default number per California FTB requirements.
- Save the changes.
- Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
- If the error continues, review theRequestedDatefield to make sure it contains a valid date in the required format.
