DCSchD20-0001 e-file error

This error occurs when the Schedule D TotalTax doesn't match the sum of individual TaxAmount entries on the District of Columbia D-20 return.

Error message

DCSchD20-0001: SchD20, TotalTax must equal sum of all TaxAmount

Solution

  1. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    District of Columbia
    D-20-Corporation Franchise Tax Return
    D-20, Page 3
    Schedule D
    . Select the
    Detail
     hyperlink.
  2. Ensure all amounts entered here have descriptions.
  3. You can also enter this data in
    Organizer
    States
    District of Columbia
    State Adjustments
    Subtractions from Federal Taxable Income
    Schedule D - Taxes
    .
  4. Perform a full recompute and recreate the e-file.
note
Each line that contributes to the Schedule D total must include a complete description and amount. Amounts can't be negative. Confirm the Schedule D TOTAL line on D-20, Page 3 matches the sum of all TaxAmount entries before recreating the e-file.
