You get this error when a federal copy option isn't selected for the Maine state e-file return.

Maine Reject Code STATE-005

Open the return.

Go to

Organizer
States
State E-file
Enable/Create Returns

.

Open the Federal Copy
tab and select a federal copy option in Column B.

Verify the data in the other columns.

Perform a full recompute.

Re-create the Maine e-file from

States
State E-file
Enable/Create Returns

, then select the Return
tab.

Go to the

Send Return

screen. Select only State Ready to Send
, then submit the Maine return.
