Access control imports
For all import types except for new users (see Group and new user import), use an Excel worksheet.
- Enter each field's data into separate columns (Field Number 1 in Column A, Field Number 2 in Column B, Field Number 3 in Column C, and so on). Once you've entered all the data, save the file as a .csv (comma-separated values) file. If you have numeric account numbers that start with a leading zero, format these numbers as text by adding a leading apostrophe.
- For all imports except the Locator – Group Assignment, use placeholders after the first row for Group Name and Group Location. On the first row, fill in Group Name in Column A and Group Location in Column B. For subsequent rows, leave Columns A and B blank unless you need to specify a different Group Name or Group Location.
- For Locator – Group Assignment imports, make sure each row or record in the import file contains all five specified fields in the required data format.
