Import Trial Balance data

note
Currently if you are using the new web Organizer, there is no option to access the Trial Balance. To access Trial Balance follow the steps here.

Open Trial Balance

  1. Go to the GoSystem RS/Express RS homepage.
  2. Go to
    Options
    .
  3. Select
    Preferences
    .
  4. For
    Open Return Mode - 1065, 1120
    , select
    Ask me how to open (default)
    .
  5. Select
    Classic Organizer
     when asked how to open the file.
  6. Open a return then go to
    Access
    Trial Balance
    .

To import Trial Balance data

  1. Make sure your import file is in Data Interchange Format (.dif) or Excel format (.xls).
  2. Select a
    Data Source
     in Trial Balance and a template to use. if you don't have a template setup, select
    New
    .
  3. Select the
    Source File Import Type
    .
  4. Provide a
    Template Name
     (make sure there are no spaces) and
    Template Description
    .
  5. The
    Source File Format
     can stay as
    Automatic Detection
     or you can manually select a format.
  6. Select
    Browse
    .
  7. Select your file.
  8. Select
    Open
    .
  9. Select
    OK
    .

Mapping the Template

  1. From the
    User Defined Import Template
     screen, select an
    Import Item
     to map.
  2. Select the corresponding
    Column
     in the file.
  3. Make sure the
    Import Starting on Line
     is not the row header, but where information begins.
  4. After you map the appropriate columns, select
    Import Now
    .
  5. A pop-up message will display to
    Save this Import Template
    . Select an option.
  6. Mark the checkboxes for the
    Import Items
     you want to import.
    note
    Items checked and grayed out are mandatory for importing.
  7. Select
    Import
    .
  8. Select
    OK
    .
  9. A pop-up message will display
    Do you want to add this File and Format to the Auto Import List?
    . Select an option.
  10. Select
    Done
    .
  11. Select
    Done
     again to complete the import.
  12. Calculate
     and
    Validate
     the Trial Balance Bridge after an
    Import
    .
  13. To push the imported data into the Organizer, select
    Options
    Merge Now
    .
