Form 1042 print requirements

Use these steps to ensure Form 1042 prints for a 1065 Federal return, including verifying required entries and adjusting the form print options.

To print Form 1042, Federal Annual Withholding Tax Return for U.S. Source Income of Foreign Persons:

In the Tax Forms
, select Federal
folder.

Go to the 1042 – Annual Withholding Tax Return
, then the Annual Withholding Tax Return
folder.

On the Page 1
tab, make sure line 61a
is greater than 0.

Do a full recompute, then print the return.

You need to print, but the form doesn’t appear in the print output.

Scroll down to the Print Option
section.

Enter X
in the Force print
field for Form 1042.

If the Suppress print
field has an X, remove it to let the form print.

Perform a full recompute and refresh the print preview.
