Capital Loss Carryforwards/Carrybacks worksheet print requirements

The Capital Loss Carryforwards/Carrybacks worksheet prints when you enter prior-year capital loss carryover amounts and the return utilizes those amounts against current-year capital gains.
To print the Capital Loss Carryforwards/Carrybacks worksheet, which supports Schedule D (Form 1120), Capital Gains and Losses, line 6, Unused capital loss carryover:
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Gains and Losses
    Capital Gains and Losses
    Other Information
    .
  2. Enter the
    Amount Available
    for prior years. Don't enter the current-year Amount Available in a single entity or top consolidated return.
  3. Go to
    Tax Forms
    Federal
    Sch D/8949-Capital Gains and Losses
    . Drill down on line 6, Unused capital loss carryover, to open the Capital Loss Carryforwards/Carrybacks worksheet.
  4. Review line 2 to review the total carryforwards available and line 15 to review the total carryforwards remaining after utilization. The amount on line 15 transfers to Schedule D, line 6.
  5. Do a full recompute, then print.

For consolidated returns, the top consolidated return utilizes the capital loss carryovers; member returns don't utilize them separately.
