Administrator types
Administrators set up other administrators and assign permissions (view, add, edit, delete) to users. They also manage permissions for applications and establish security policies for users and company accounts.
There are 3 levels of administrators.
- Full Access - every licensed application.
- Full Access (Product-specific) - Edit (Limited) - specific applications. Full permissions to those specific applications.
- Product-specific - specific applications. Specific permissions to applications.
To use and manage the Product Assignments section, you'll either need
Full Access
administrator permissions or Edit (Limited)
administrator permissions.- Sign in to ONESOURCE, then selectAdministration.
- On theUsersscreen, search for the name to assign permissions to.
- SelectEdit, thenProduct Permissions.
Full access administrator
Full Access administrators can assign all permissions for all ONESOURCE applications they have licenses to use.
- Mark theFull Access (select all)checkbox to create this type of administrator. When you selectFull Access, all other options are selected by default except theEdit (Limited)options. The user has Full Access, which includes administrator permissions as well.noteIf this account uses Client Manager, Edit (All) administrators can view and manage all clients, regardless of the clients assigned to their profile.
- SelectNext.
- On theProduct Assignmentsscreen, mark all products that the user has permission to view and use.
- SelectDoneto save your changes.
Full access (product-specific) administrator
Product-specific Full Access administrators can assign all user permissions for specific ONESOURCE applications. Selecting
Full Access
for the specific application enables you to specify the user permissions for that application. This designates the user a Full Access administrator for that specific application.note
These settings require a minimum of
View Users
or View Group
permissions.- In theProduct Permissionssection, markEdit (All)next to the specific applications that this user has permission to use.
- In theCompany Info,Assignments,Reference Data, andSetupsections, mark the specific permissions for this user.
- SelectNext.
- On theProduct Assignmentsscreen, mark all products that the user has permission to view and use.
- SelectDoneto save your changes.
Product-specific administrator
Product-specific administrators have permissions to assign user permissions for ONESOURCE products they use. Selecting
Edit (Limited)
for an application enables you to specify the user permissions for that application. This designates the user as an administrator for that specific application and the specific permissions for those products.note
These settings require a minimum of
View Users
or View Group
permissions.- SelectEdit (Limited)for the specific application that this user has a license to use.
- Don’t selectFull Accessfor any application.
- In theCompany Info,Assignments,Product Permissions,Reference Data, andSetupsections, select the specific permissions for this administrator.
- SelectNext.
- On theProduct Assignmentsscreen, mark all products that the user has permission to view and use.
- SelectDoneto save your changes.
