TTA-FBAR-AdditionalMessage e-file error

An FBAR e-file returns a TTA-FBAR-AdditionalMessage reject code indicates the return was conditionally accepted with warning errors requiring amended resubmission.

Error message

This FBAR had warning errors that must be re-filed as Amended reports correcting the errors. The errors can be corrected in this original locator, but the Amended box must be marked before e-file is re-created and resubmitted.

Solution

When an FBAR electronic file is conditionally accepted, this means the return was accepted but may be subject to additional review. It isn't the default status. To correct and resubmit:
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Foreign Information
    Foreign Bank Account
    Foreign Bank Account
    FinCen - General Information
and enter all paid preparer firm and/or paid preparer information.
  2. In the
    General Information
    section, mark the checkbox for
    Amended Return
    .
  3. Make sure the
    Paid Preparer Firm
section contains a valid phone number without non-numeric characters.
  4. Verify that data populates at
    Tax Forms
    Federal
Form 114 - Report for Foreign Accounts
    Page 1
    Box 47 and 48
    .
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
note
FinCEN recommends resubmitting conditionally accepted FBARs within 30 days of the conditional acceptance.
