Error: The field 'MiddleInitial' with value '', data is missing or unexpected
This happens when there is an illegal character in the middle initial field or its missing a value.

Solution
- In Organizer, select .
- Locate the partner with the invalid middle initial value. Clear the number or special character, or change it to the correct alphabetic middle initial.
- In theAutomatic Reformat - Partner Namesection, remove the middle initial from any partners that do not have an entity type ofIndividual
- CheckView, thenOverridesto make sure there isn't an incorrect name missed somewhere.
- Recompute and recreate the e-file.
note
If the invalid characters came from a direct K-1 import, correct the import source file so future imports don't include numbers or special characters (such as &) in the middle initial field.
