G0000-030 e-file error

This happens when the member listing on California Schedule R-7 doesn't match the member listing on the California Combined Report Schedules. This is typically caused by Schedule R-7 having fewer than 2 members, or by a member being incorrectly designated as a single company.

Solution

  1. If Schedule R-7 has fewer than 2 members:
    1. Confirm your consolidation includes at least 2 members, with one marked as the Key Corporation.
    2. In each member, go to
      Organizer
      States
      California
      Combined Return Information
      Combined Information
      .
    3. For Schedule R-7 Information, mark
      Electing member is incorporated, organized, qualified, or registered to do business in California
      and/or
      Electing member has property, payroll, or sales in California
      .
    4. In the same section, mark
      Member is the Key Corporation
      for 1 member only.
    5. Clear
      Check to exclude this member from Part I, Section A
      for each electing member.
    6. Repeat these steps so that at least 2 members are marked as electing members.
    7. Reconsolidate the TopCon.
  2. If a listed Schedule R-7 member is missing from the Combined Reports:
    1. Confirm no return has been incorrectly designated as a single company. In the TopCon, go to
      Tax Forms
      States
      California
      Selected Options
      Return Type
      tab.
    2. Right-click the
      Single Company
      checkbox and select
      Subview
      .
    3. In the
      Subview
      window, check for any company with an
      X
      in the Value column, since this indicates the company is designated as a single company. Your consolidation should have 1 parent, at least 1 subsidiary, and 1 eliminations locator, with no members set to a single company.
    4. For each company incorrectly designated as a single company, go to
      Organizer
      States
      State and City Activation
      State and City Activation
      and change Column E for
      Entity Type
      to
      Subsidiary
      (or
      Parent
      ) on the California line.
    5. Recompute any changed returns, reconsolidate the TopCon, and recreate the e-file.
