This happens when you enter a phone number instead of a Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN) or Social Security Number (SSN).

Solution

  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    Common State
    General Information
    Paid Preparer Information
    Preparer Information tab
     and complete 1 of the following for California:
    1. Go to
      Column C
       and enter an
      SSN
      .
    2. Go to
      Column D
       and enter a
      PTIN
      .
  2. Do a full recompute and recreate the e-file to clear the diagnostic.
