Error: The field ‘RoutingTransitNum’ with value '', data is missing

This validation error occurs when e-filing a California 1120 return with incomplete or invalid bank routing information.

Error message

1. Validation failed on [FILE_ID]: Form: CA-ReturnHeader Description: Taxpayer bank routing number Requirement: Routing Transit Number - 9 digits beginning with 01 through 12, or 21 through 32 Error: The field 'RoutingTransitNum' with value '', data is missing. Solution

Direct deposit isn't available for California 1120 returns, so you must remove the bank information to resolve this error.
  1. Go to

    Common State
    General Information
    Bank Information
    Direct Deposit
    California
    .
  2. Remove the complete bank information since direct deposit (Column H) is not available.
  3. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
