section for
Prior Year NOLs

In the
SIC Code
field, enter a valid 4-digit numeric SIC Code (for example, 1234).

The SIC Code needs to be exactly 4 numeric digits. Non-numeric characters or empty values will cause validation failure.
If the SIC Code isn't necessary, check whether the field can be left blank or requires a default number per California FTB requirements.
Save the changes.
Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
If the error continues, review the
RequestedDate
field to make sure it contains a valid date in the required format.
