Error: The field 'SICCode' with value, data is missing.

California Form 3805Q e-file validation fails when the SIC Code field is empty or contains non-numeric characters, or when the RequestedDate field contains an invalid value.

Solution

  1. Go to
    California
    Form 3805Q
    .
  2. Find the
    Carryover Limitations
    section for
    Prior Year NOLs
    .
  3. In the
    SIC Code
field, enter a valid 4-digit numeric SIC Code (for example, 1234).
    note
    • The SIC Code needs to be exactly 4 numeric digits. Non-numeric characters or empty values will cause validation failure.
    • If the SIC Code isn't necessary, check whether the field can be left blank or requires a default number per California FTB requirements.
  4. Save the changes.
  5. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
  6. If the error continues, review the
    RequestedDate
field to make sure it contains a valid date in the required format.
