9497 e-file error
New York prohibits from submitting the CT-3-A combined return e-file until all associated CT-3-A/BC subsidiary e-files have been submitted. Our records indicate the subsidiary CT-3-A/BC returns have not yet been submitted. Verify all subsidiary returns have been submitted. If all indicated subsidiary e-files show as having been submitted, there may have been a timing difference. Resubmit the CT-3-A combined return e-file.
This happens when you submit the TopCon before the subsidiaries. The system prevents the CT-3-A e-file from being submitted until all the associated CT-3-A/BC subsidiary e-files have been submitted.
Solution
Let's walk through submitting the subsidiaries first to have them considered complete, and then re-submit the TopCon.
- Go toOrganizer,States,New York,E-file, and thenAdditional Information.
- Go to the bottom of the screen and selectCT-3-A/BC inclusion list for the CT-3-A to be submitted. The system reviews this data entry before you can submit the CT-3-A TopCon e-file.
- Correct any locator/binder number for a subsidiary or select to exclude it.
If the subsidiaries are all qualified, wait until their status changes to accepted, and then re-submit the TopCon.
