Error: The field CapitalSurplus with value [ENTERED_VALUE], data format is not correct

This happens when
CapitalSurplus
or
StatedCapital
on the South Carolina 1120 return contain negative values. These fields require non-negative integers (0 or positive amounts).

Solution

  1. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    South Carolina
    SC1120 - Tax Return
    Page 3
    .
  2. Line 14B and 14C need to be
    NONE
    or positive.
  3. To update Line 14b, go to
    Organizer
    States
    South Carolina
    Annual Report
    .
  4. Enter the
    Total paid in capital surplus (override)
    amount.
  5. Go to
    Tax Forms
    States
    South Carolina
    SC1120 - Tax Return
    SC1120 Pg 5
    Schedule J
    .
  6. Line 14 A, B, and C can't be negative. Use the Subview on each line to identify lower members that contain a negative integer.
  7. The minimum value is 0 or NONE.
  8. Do a full recompute, then recreate the e-file.
