Solution
Texas Franchise Tax returns with 0 apportionment can't be e-filed. This limitation applies regardless of whether you use Form 05-169 or Form 05-158. File the return on paper.
The ApportionmentFactor field is Line 13 on Form 05-169 or Line 26 on Form 05-158B. It divides Texas Gross Receipts by Gross Receipts Everywhere. If the result is 0 or can't be computed, the field shows 'NONE'. The e-file schema only accepts a decimal between 0 and 1, so 'NONE' causes an error.
- Print the Texas Franchise Tax return.
- File the return on paper with the Texas agency.
- Affected forms include (Line 13 can't be NONE) and (Line 26 can't be NONE).
Solution 2: Alternative option
- Review Line 24 and Line 25 apportionment values and update as needed in the Organizer entries.
