Solution

An e-file timestamp generates whenever you create the e-file. Generating the validation file doesn't clear this diagnostic. This applies to federal and state returns. Do the following to clear the diagnostic:
Federal returns
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    Federal E-file
    Create E-file
    .
  2. Select
    Create Federal E-file
    .
State returns
  1. Go to
    Organizer
    States
    State E-file
    Enable/Create
    .
  2. Select
    Create
in Column B for the state.
note
Make sure that the return e-file is turned on and the extension e-file is turned off while working on the return.
