Create the e-file

Create an e-file to generate an XML file with a timestamp and status, ensuring any errors are resolved before submission.
Do the following to create an e-file:
  1. In
    Organizer
    , select
    Federal E-file
    .
  2. Select
    Create E-file
    .
    An XML file is created that will have a date and time stamp, along with the e-file status.
  • If there are any errors in the XML file, you'll need to clear them before you can submit the e-file.
  • You can only create 1 XML file at a time in the
    Organizer
    .
  • Consolidated returns are presented only in stacked format.
  • The IRS requires that the cross-tie print options don't apply to electronic filing.
  • Supporting statements might now show in the same order as they would print for a return.
  • Non-numerical information may appear at the entity level you entered it for.
  • The system doesn't include the
    PDF Attachment
    in the PDF Reader, but the return should have a
    Binary Attachment
    section that shows the associated attachment information.
