Payment options for e-filed corporate returns
Learn about the available payment methods when you e-file Form 1120 or 1120S, including electronic funds withdrawal, EFTPS, and check payments.
You can e-file your corporate return and pay any balance in 1 easy step. When you e-file Form 1120 or 1120S, you've got several options available.
Electronic funds withdrawal (EFW)
You can e-file and simultaneously authorize an electronic funds withdrawal from your bank account. To use this option, you must provide your account number and routing transit number for a qualified account.
You can schedule the payment for withdrawal on a future date. For timely filed returns, schedule the payment on or before the return due date. For late returns, the payment date must match the transmission date. Authorize electronic funds withdrawal payments when you file the balance due return or form.
Electronic federal tax payment system (EFTPS)
Once you enroll in EFTPS, you can pay all taxes electronically using this system.
Pay by check
You can mail a check to pay your balance due. You don't need to mail the payment at the same time as you transmit an electronic extension.
Credit card payments
The IRS lets businesses that e-file to pay their balance due by credit card. However, this option isn't currently available through RIA.
