Add binders
Binders represent year-specific data particular to an entity. All binders for the same entity use data from a common database. You can set up tax binders according to the year required for a particular entity. The system uses the year to invoke the appropriate data entry dialog boxes, workpapers, and computations for that binder.
note
Don't assign a chart to a binder when you create it, you can add a chart at a later date.
All Binders is the opening screen for the application.
- On the All Binders screen, selectAdd Binder.
- Select the taxYearfrom the dropdown.
- Select theEntitytype you want to create.
- SelectCreate.The Binder Properties screen is comprised of a variety of pages and actions. Each page contains information about the binder. The information is dependent upon the binder type.

We recommend that you check the information for each of these tabs. Once you assign charts to a binder, you cannot change them.
