Home window setup

Add entities

You can add entities from the entities list or them using the
Tools
menu.
  1. On the
    Entities
     menu bar, select
    Add Entity
    .
  2. Enter the
    Entity Information
    .
  3. In the
    Return Information
     section, select the
    Entity Type
     from the dropdown.
  4. Select the
    Return Type
     from the dropdown.
  5. Select an
    International Filing Type
    , if this is an international entity.
    • Foreign Tax Credit - Domestic entities with foreign source income or foreign operations. This is the only option for Top Consolidation entities.
    • Foreign Entity - Foreign corporations, controlled foreign corporations, foreign partnerships, and branches of foreign corporations.
  6. Selecting an entity’s filing type is permanent.
  7. Select the
    Source of Data for the Tax Return
    .
  8. Select the
    Level of Consolidation/Elimination
    , if applicable.
  9. For international entities, complete the Company Information. The company number is required when you want to batch import or process international returns.
  10. In the
    Fiscal Year
     section, select the beginning and ending date for the entity.
  11. In the
    Incorporation
    section, select the
    Date
     of Incorporation and the
    State
    .
  12. Select
    Save
    .

Edit entities

  1. To change entity information, select the entity.
  2. Select the
    Properties
    icon.
  3. To rename an entity, select the entity.
  4. On the side menu, select
    Rename
    .
  5. Enter the new name.
