Home window set up

The setup process begins with creating Charts of Tax Combination Codes (TCCs), Charts of Accounts (COA), and Charts of Adjustments. Then add entities and binders and assign charts to them.
If you choose the
Tree View
display option, all the items appear in a navigation tree structure. The navigation tree organizes everything in a hierarchy format.
The levels of the tree are described below:
Workarea
: Store all entities and binders for an Organization. Multiple Workareas can be created but usually one workarea is created for the entire Organization. The creation of multiple workareas depends on an organization’s structure and should be decided during implementation.
Groups
:
  • Home Group – the default group containing all entities under that workarea.
  • User Defined Groups – groups entities and binders by user defined preference (i.e. Consolidation groups, State Groups, etc.). The actual entities and binders within each user defined group will reside in the Home Group and shortcuts will be created in the user-defined groups.
Entities
: User defined organizations that are assigned specific return types. (Parent, Subsidiary, Partnership, Consolidation, etc.). Each entity will have associated binders, which are separated into year folders.
Binders
: Annual tax returns for the associated entity. Charts are assigned on a individual basis when first creating a binder.
