Set up EIN and reference ID numbers
Populate Identifying Numbers in ONESOURCE Income Tax
- To populate theEIN, go toEntity Propertiesand enter the EIN information.
- There are two methods to populateReference IDnumbers:
- Go to Binder Properties, thenGeneral Informationand enter theReference IDnumber.
- You can also import Reference ID numbers for multiple entities at once usingBatch Import.
- SelectInternational Import Type: Reference ID
- SelectForm 8975 IDs
- SelectNumber of Employees. (The only information required for a successful Reference ID import is Entity Number and Reference ID Number.)

If more than one Reference ID is required, you must enter the additional number(s) in the appropriate screen in Organizer.
Populating EIN and Reference ID numbers on Forms with ONESOURCE Income Tax International
- To push the EIN and Reference ID to Forms 5471, 8858 or 8865,
- Select the optionsRefresh Entity, Company Information, andFiscal Year and Incorporation.
- Run a TAS Compute.
- To push EIN and Reference ID information to the 8975,
- Run theTAS Compute / Consolidateat the entity level and you must run aTAS Consolidate at the Top Consolidationlevel.
- Then run theInternational Compute Option Transfer to 8975to push to the form.
- After running successful International Topcon Computes (at minimum E&P and Subpart F), EIN and Reference ID Information will be available to populate the following other forms (If you use ONESOURCE Income Tax International to populate them):
- 1118 Schedule C, D, and E:EIN and Reference ID information will flow to these schedules automatically once International Computes (TIBS, FTC, Transfer to 1118) are successfully run in the Top Consolidation binder and Organizer Full Recompute has been completed in Topcon Organizer.
- 1118 Schedule A / B, Part I:Optional International Transfer is available to transfer EIN / Reference ID to the 1118 Schedule A / B. Successful transfer of this information requires setup of International Transfer, successful TAS Computes (with Transfer International box selected), and successful International Topcon Compute (TIBS, FTC, Transfer to 1118).
- Form 8992:Transfer of EIN and Reference ID information will occur once a successful Transfer to 8992 is done in the Topcon and the TAS Consolidate is run in the Topcon with the optionConsolidate this binder and compute all binders with computes pendingselected.
