Attach a PDF to a return

These are the steps to attach a PDF file to a federal e-file return. Go to the PDF Attachments section, select the jurisdiction, attach the file, and you'll see it in the Electronic Filing Attachments window.
  1. In Organizer, select
    E-file
    Attachments
    PDF Attachments
    Summary
    , then select
    Attach PDF
    .
  2. On the
    Electronic Filing Attachments
    screen, select
    Add
    to add a new attachment.
  3. On the
    Add Attachment
    window, select the
    Attachment Jurisdiction
    from the dropdown. Select
    Next
    .
  4. Find the PDF file, then select
    Open
    .
  5. The
    Add Attachment to Federal Return
    window displays information about the selected attachment. Select a meaningful title for the attachment, either by selecting one of the listed titles or entering your own user-defined description. Select
    Finish
    .
  6. A message verifies the attachment was successfully added. Select
    OK
    .
  7. The PDF file now appears in the
    Electronic Filing Attachments
    window. Select
    Done
    to complete the attachment.
Details for each PDF attachment are displayed following the
Summary
screen.
