Create custom templates

In the Organizer, you can create custom templates by adding screens, reviewing them, then downloading the template to your machine.
To create a custom template, open the
Organizer
in a Binder and select the
Templates
dropdown.

  • Screens are
    Tax Return
    specific.
  • Some screens can also be
    Entity Type
    or
    Year
    specific.

Add screens

To add a screen to your template, go to the specific data entry screen or tax form you want to include, then select
Add Current Screen
from the
Templates
dropdown.
Repeat this for as many screens as you'd like to add to the template.
note
  • All fields in the selected screen will be included.
  • For screens and tax forms with multiple tabs, only the tab or page you select will be added. You'll need to add each tab or page of a screen separately.
  • Closing the Organizer during this process will remove all added screens.

Manage templates

To review your template or remove added screens, select
Manage Template
from the
Templates
tab.
  1. The
    Manage Template
    screen will open with a list of all added screens for you to review.
  2. Mark the checkbox for a screen, then select
    Delete
    to remove it.
  3. Alternatively, you can select
    All Screens
    then
    Delete
    to remove all added screens.
  4. Select
    Done
    when you're finished.

Download templates

When you're done adding screens, you'll need to download the custom template. Select
Download Template
from the
Templates
dropdown.
1 template will be downloaded for all screens listed the
Manage Template
screen.
The template will download with a generic name with an .xsd extension. Rename it so you can identify it.
