Binder properties related to Form 8975 and Schedule A

International
. The tax jurisdiction of residence defaults to the
Country of Operations
. The TIN (taxpayer identification number) identifies an entity (constituent) to the tax administration within its tax jurisdiction of residence. If you don't enter a TIN or the individual binder 8975 workpaper,
NOTIN
gets selected when the constituent information's transferred to the Form 8975 Organizer.

For Foreign Tax Credit (FTC) entities other than divisions, the jurisdiction of residence defaults to U.S. and the EIN in entity properties transfers to the
Tax Identification Number
field in the Foreign 8975 Schedule A Workpaper during TAS Computes.

Charts tab

The 8975 Schedule A mapping chart defines the relationships between the federal chart of accounts and the tax return lines on Form 8975, Schedule A, Part I.
If a binder has an 8975 chart, the U.S. dollar book adjusted amounts carry from the Working Trial Balance (or the
U.S. Book Balance Overrides
screen if in use) to the binder's Form 8975 Schedule A Workpaper during the TAS Compute. If a chart isn't assigned to the binder, TAS amounts won't transfer to the workpaper; however, you can enter override values in the 8975 workpaper at the Schedule A field level (1a, 1b, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8).

Business Activities

Each constituent reported on Form 8975, Schedule A, Part II must have at least 1 business activity assigned. You can use the
Business Activities
screen in binder properties to assign an activity.

Enter 8975 identification numbers in the
International
tab of binder properties.
