Print returns

Create PDF or preview experience for large returns

If you have more than 5,000 pages in a return's output or if a return's larger than 65 MB, the create PDF and preview options adjust to accommodate the large size of the return/locator.
tip
After starting a preview or create PDF process, you can close the
Print
 dialog and continue working in your locator as the print process will work in the background.

Create PDF

For large returns, in the
Print
 dialog, when creating a PDF, the output will go to download only. The option to open in preview won't be available due to the size of the output.
The process of creating the PDF(s) will take several hours, and the processing jobs may not complete sequentially. We recommend waiting until the entire process is complete before using or distributing the files.
The history section of the Print dialog will show download only for returns with more than 5,000 pages.
note
Up to 4 PDFs may be created depending on the size of the return.

Preview

For large returns, bookmarks won't be available. You can use search or pagination to navigate the return's preview. Sample search queries include: 1065 Sch. K-1 and Sch K-2.
The preview process only takes several minutes.
