Troubleshooting tips

Data Discovery troubleshooting covers common problems such as no results returned, unexpected results, and access errors.

No results were returned

  • Verify the company name or external ID matches what's in ONESOURCE. This includes capitalization, spacing, and special characters. Minor differences can prevent a match.
  • Verify the entity exists and has been saved in ONESOURCE. Recently added entities may take a short time to become discoverable.
  • Narrow your query by including a company name, external ID, or date range.
  • If filtering by date, verify the format and range match when the record was created or modified.

The results are not what you expected

  • Ask 1 question at a time. Data Discovery is optimized for single questions, so split combined queries into separate ones.
  • Specify the data you want. Instead of “Tell me about ABC Corp,” ask for company details, jurisdiction information, or registration data separately.
  • If results are for the wrong entity, use the external company ID instead of the company name. Names may not be unique across your configuration.
  • Remove filters one at a time to make sure if any are excluding valid results.
  • Rephrase ambiguous questions more directly. If the intent is unclear, CoCounsel may interpret it differently than expected.

Access denied or permission errors

  • Verify with your Administrator that your account has the roles needed to view the requested data. Different data types may require different permission levels.
  • If your access was recently changed, sign out and back in to refresh your session.
  • If permissions appear correct but access is still denied, ask your Administrator to audit your role configuration for conflicts.
