Add a non-U.S. tax jurisdiction
Many authorities in tax jurisdictions outside of the U.S. require a company to register and obtain a registration number before the company can collect tax. In addition, an authority may require you to use a registration mask.
- SelectConfiguration,Basic Setup, andTax Jurisdictions.
- SelectAdd tax jurisdiction.
- Select the company you want to add the tax jurisdiction to.
- Select the country that includes the tax jurisdiction you want to add.
- Enter the date of establishment.
- Complete the following to set the establishment settings:
- If you want to establish the company across all tax jurisdictions, select IsEstablished across... authorities.
- Select the tax jurisdiction you want to add.
- SelectIs Established.
- Complete the following to add registration information:
- SelectAdd Registration Information.
- Enter the registration number. Be sure to use the registration mask that may be required by the authority.noteDetermination handles registration numbers in XML input data according to the company role. If you enter a registration number but pass in or use a different registration number in a TransEditor, then the registration number that was passed in or used in the TransEditor overrides the registration number entered in this dialog.
- Enter the date when the registration number became (or will become) active.
- SelectSave.
