The ONESOURCE Determination 2023.5 (Production Patch 1) release includes a bug fix for custom product tax exemptions. The fix was released in the UAT and Production environments for the AMER and EMEA regions as of 6 A.M. (CST) on September 25, 2023.

Custom Product Categories - Tax Exemption Not Applying (943206)
When a tax exemption is set for a product using the
CUSTOM PRODUCT CATEGORIES
tab on the Products and Services page (select Configuration
, Basic Setup
then Custom Products or Configuration
, Mapping
then Standard Mappings or Conditional Mappings
to access), the tax engine did not apply the relevant exemption, which resulted in the full tax for that product. This was corrected so that the exemption set from the CUSTOM PRODUCT CATEGORIES
tab now correctly applies to the product, which results in the PRODUCT_EXEMPT_APPLIED message in the tax engine response.Known Issues
