Export and import data

Export full company configuration

You can export a single company or a company and all its descendents. In either case, all configurations get included except where a company inherits from an ancestor that's not included in the export.
note
For full company configuration exports, TransEditor groups that are checked out are included in the export. It's best to check in all TransEditor groups prior to an export.
  1. Go to
    Tools
    ,
    Administration
    , and then
    Export and Import
    .
  2. Find your company, and then select
    Export
    .
  3. Choose whether to export just the selected company or the selected company and all its descendents.
  4. Make sure to select
    Full Company Configuration
    , and then select
    Next
    .
  5. Select
    Export
    .
    important
    You may not see your browser's save dialog immediately. The time taken to create your export file depends on the number of records included.
  6. Choose a location and save your export file.
    note
    Don't edit the XML file contained within your export or you may corrupt the data in your destination environment.
