Turn on entity access

urn on entity access

You can set up entity access rights in User Administration.
Available options to access an entity include:
  • WRITE
access gives full access to the entity.
  • READ ONLY
access gives a restricted access to the relevant entity.
  • NO ACCESS
restricts you from seeing the entity and any of its data.
If you have administrator rights in ONESOURCE, you can see user permissions when you edit a user or user group.

Write access

By default, the system grants all users
WRITE
permissions for all the entities. If you have write access to an entity, you can perform without restriction all the actions as mentioned in the entity manager section.
User Permissions
is where you can modify the default permissions.
Select the application to set the permission levels.

Users with no access

Users with no access to an entity can't perform the following actions in Entity Manager:
  • View the entity by default
  • Edit entity details
  • Change group structure
From the main menu, select
Configuration
, and then
Entity Manager
. Select
No Access Entities
on the left panel to show the entities with no access in view-only mode. You can't edit or change group structure if you don’t have write access.
The
My Access
column in the entities list grid gives further filtering options to display entities with write access only, entities with no access only, or all entities.
note
The My Access column is hidden by default. You can use the Show/Hide Columns selector on the grid to enable it.
